Fabric FILLS our lives with COLOR and TEXTURE

Hi,

I'm Lisa Bobrin, a fiber artist embarking on my third career, this one centered around the realm of woven fabric.

During her youth, my mother imparted sewing skills at the Singer Sewing Machine factory in Cincinnati, Ohio. Our childhood home overflowed with fabric—a versatile array of creations, driven by both necessity and practicality. From quilts to bathrobes and cozy flannel nightgowns, from summer shorts to winter's warming woolen snow pants, she stitched it all. Although she didn't formally instruct my sister and me in sewing, her hands were ceaselessly at work, crafting even our wedding dresses. Not a scrap was ever discarded. I took early retirement to care for her, and she lived nearly 98 years—a beacon of sharpness until her final breath.

Following my professional retirement, I embraced a return to my roots. In high school, I had the remarkable experience of weaving on floor looms, and I pursued art school before shifting my educational focus to healthcare. Working with woven fabric is an incredibly soothing and gratifying endeavor, and I'm eager to share its remarkable qualities with you.
