Hand Sewing, Visible Mending, Shashiko

Age 14+
Participants will leave with a beautiful and functional needle keep, along with a solid foundation in hand sewing techniques and fabric knowledge. Create a darling needle keep that includes a variety of basic stitches and fabric identification is a wonderful way to learn the art of hand sewing.

Tee-Shirt Quilts 101

Age 14+
Memory quilts are a wonderful way to preserve and cherish memories by turning old clothing or t-shirts into a beautiful and functional quilt.

Materials and Prerequisites: Participants should bring 12-16 t-shirts or articles of clothing that hold sentimental value. These items should be washed, dried, and laid flat before the first class.

Upcycled Twirly Skirt for Kids.

In the Twirly Skirt Sewing for Kids class, you'll have the joy of creating a fun and comfortable twirly skirt for your favorite young person in your life. Basic machine and sewing skills required.

Are you ready to dust off that sewing machine and get back into the world of stitching and creativity? This workshop is designed for individuals who own sewing machines but need a refresher on the basics of machine operation, threading and bobbin winding.

  • Basic Machine Operation

  • Practice on Testing Fabric

  • Create a Simple Pillowcase

What to Bring: Your sewing machine with its manual. Any sewing accessories you have (e.g., scissors, pins, measuring tape). A notepad and pen for taking notes.

Beginning Art Quilts - Transform Your Memories into Fabric

Turn your cherished vacation or honeymoon photos into beautiful fabric art. Whether you envision an abstract representation or a concrete design, this class will guide you through the creative process. By the end of the class, you will have created a small wall hanging that will serve as a lasting memento of your vacation or honeymoon, adding a personal touch to your living space.

Materials and Prerequisites:

  • All necessary materials will be provided.

  • Participants are welcome to bring their own sewing machines, although machines will also be available for use.

  • Basic machine and sewing skills are required to fully participate in this class.

Class Format:

  • Lisa, the experienced instructor, will guide you through the process of turning your cherished photos into fabric art.

  • You will learn techniques related to color placement, fabric selection, and quilting methods to achieve your desired artistic expression.
    Classes are available on Mondays and Wednesdays

Sew an Upcycled Tee Shirt Skirt!

Bring your favorite old tee shirts and learn how to turn them into your very own tee shirt skirt (either short or long style). BYO tee shirts (clean, thrifted tees will also be available for purchase in class). Class taught by Kelsey, and classes held Thursday-Sunday based on student availability.

  • Class will take place over two 2-hour sessions,  $80

  • Class requires a quick visit to see Kelsey at the store to determine sizing info so we have the appropriate pattern available

  • Materials needed: Rotary cutter and straight edge, jersey needles for your sewing machine, pins, 9ish tee shirts of your choice. Cutting mats and waistbands provided.
